2008-2011

June 25, 2011

Time is indeed schnell. I first stepped into my class. My very own class in Jan 2008.

3 years had past, and now i’m embarking on my second attachment with a secondary school for 5 weeks.
I can sense the going getting tougher and tougher. I hope I could still be the teacher I wanted to be.

To guide my students and help them transit from childhood to teenagehood.

I want to introduce / anchor the inner compass so that they may find their sense of direction, purpose, passio nand goals in their life.

To inspire like my teachers did to me.

To pass it on.

Keep that flame burning. =)

Sch Experience

July 6, 2010

After a year, I am back to school, this time in a primary school. This time, i’m on unfamiliar grounds, a new environment. A couple of things left much impression on me. E.g The class size, the diverse nationality, the various challenges within a class, the vast difference as compared to the past, the brilliance of the students, the teaching aids and methodology. So much have changed, and yet, the familiar tune of ‘black keys’ on the piano still lingers. So much have changed, and yet, the familiar innocence and curiosity of the kids still remains…at least to some extent. So much have changed, and yet, the human touch still remains. Perhaps a more detailed reflection tml…a private one.

July Practicum 2010

May 29, 2010

Ms Chong has been posted to Pasir Ris Secondary School and East Spring Primary School for her school experience!

Though having taught in tpjc and hscs, it is the first time i’m going to explore in a new environment. Somewhere where my teachers are not around, somewhere  where it is not my alma mater.

Shall prepare myself mentally right after the Cambodia YEP. Full concentration on that now. =)

7 more to go

November 29, 2009

The first semester in NIE has finally come to an end last Tuesday, 24th November 2009.

It has been a good semester. Much better than I have expected it. Meet lovely friends. Learnt many new things. It’s one semester down, seven more to go, but I don’t really wish the remaining 7 semesters passes quickly. I know I will miss study life like nuts upon graduation. Just read through this blog and I will be reminded of the times when I was teaching, but wanting badly to be a student again.

Lots of food outings, lots of silly talks, lots of laughters, lots of odd ideas, lots of fun, lots of stress, lots of questioning, lots of studying, lots of playing.

Dear Zenn, Sarah, Ruth, Calvin and Charlotte, can we hang out as a clique still next semester? (‘?’)
